I wasn't aware this movie was a bomb.

Recently saw the 'Back to the Future' episode of 'The Movies that Made Us' on Netflix, and they discuss Robert Zemeckis' and Bob Gale's history together, and how 'Used Cars' was one of their first efforts.

They said it was a bomb, and almost short-circuited their careers. When I saw this movie at the theaters, I thought it was the funniest things I'd seen in a while. I still pull out the DVD every few years to get a chuckle.

I guess that even though it was a bomb, the right people saw the same thing I did, and realized the two Bobs had talent. If not for that, 'Back to the Future' may have never happened.

Not to mention, Marty McFly's brother and sister in the mass-driving scene towards the end. 'Used Cars' is a timeless gem. I was 11 when it came out in theaters and by 1982 it was on HBO every other day practically and I used to watch it all the time. I still think it's got some really funny parts. The part where Toby the beagle pisses on Jim to wake him cracks me up every time. I think it's rewatchable after all these years because of a great director like Zemeckis.
