How did you first discover this movie?

I remember seeing the ending on TBS back in the mid 90's (I want to say sometime around 1994 or 1995), it instantly became one of my favorite movies and I find it to be a very underrated movie that deserves to be in the same league as other 1980 films like "Blues Brothers", "Airplane" and "Caddyshack"

I just happened to read about it online a few days ago. People were saying it was one of the more underrated comedies of all time. I thought it wasn't bad, overall. There were high highs and low lows, but it was worth a watch.

I did think the desert scene towards the end did go on a little longer than necessary but the rest of the film was great, I overall give "Used Cars" a 9/10.

I actually liked the ending bit. The lowest low for me was probably the method in which Roy killed Luke via Mickey the Stunt Driver or whoever the hell that was. That was kinda silly. Although, it did, ironically, set up two of the highs - the driving itself in the scene, and one of the best jokes in the film, the bit about the $50. The "my boss is gonna have a stroke" bit. "$50 bucks never killed anybody," he said. That was good. I also liked the part where they were going to cut in on the game with their commercial, and Freddie was calling the game over the walkie to them. I didn't expect all of the driving in it, but I actually loved it, including the ending. I'm normally more of a story guy, but several of those stunts caught my attention.

I'm so old I remember them advertising this in the summer of 1980. Also, I think I saw this at a drive in theater along with Cheech and Chong's next movie. I'm pretty sure this played on Cinemax a lot in the summer of 1981. Fond memories that's for sure.

Robert Zemeckis kept talking about it in his Back to the Future commentary, so I thought I'd check it out. Glad I did!

I saw it at a drive-in the year it came out.
