this movie is funny as hell, in fact I'd even dare say it can go toe to toe with other comedy classics like Ghostbusters, Animal House, Blues Brothers, Caddyshack and Vacation
sadly however this movie is pretty obscure....

Yes, I agree with you. It was unfortunately buried upon initial release by "Airplane!" and sort of just sunk into obscurity for most people ever since.
But it's definitely one of the funniest films I've ever seen, no doubt, and I've tried to show it to as many people as possible!

I definitely agree with you that it's a very underrated movie that never seems to get as much recognition and it is IMO one of the funniest comedies I've ever seen, I remember Used Cars came on TNT and TBS all the time back in the mid 1990s.

In fact this was the first "movie channel" movie my entire family watched after my father bought our first color TV which was so cable ready that 1. we didn't need a cable box, and 2. we got unscrambled Spotlight (later made into Showtime) for free right out of the box and for about 4 years afterward.
We( mother, father, 14 year old son and 12 year old daughter!) sat down for a quiet Friday night and ended up laughing our tails off...
[Just as a wacky frame of reference my parents took us to see Animal House! in the movie theater! in 1978! so the nekkid bits didn't phase them or my sister and I. The ticket taking usher even asked the parents if they knew the movie was "a little rough for children" to which they blew him off and continued inside.]

OMG, Joyce Hyser in Just One of the Guys. Yeah, there was some heavy rotation going on when I watched that movie.
