No love here for Brooke Alderson (Aunt Corene)

I loved her character. So down to earth and friendly. She was a good actress. I wonder what she is up to these days.

So what if she didn't win the Dolly Parton lookalike contest, she still makes a mean tuna and onion salad. It's funny, this was on Netflix and I hadn't seen the movie in years. Now that I'm more of an Uncle Bob than Bud, it was nice to see a lifestyle in America that seems to have gone away.

I think the reason the movie resonates with so many is that almost everyone had a Uncle Bob and Aunt Corene in their family. My uncle he even had a nearly identical work truck (he was a master millwright/mechanic in a local mill here) that Uncle Bob in the movie had.
You're correct though, that lifestyle really seems to have gone away. Now Uncle Bob is usually playing video games or reading comics well into his 40's, while Aunt Corene is posting racy selfies on Facebook looking to get attention from guys in their 20's.

She was definitely a good character! I thought she was so nice and down to earth as Corene. She played her very well.
