I love this movie, but it's really messed up. Everyone beats up Sissy like it's okay to do. I would expect Wes to, but Bud? Did he beat up Pam too? And you know Bud was going to hit her again. It was like it's okay for him to beat her up, but once he found out Wes hit her, that was it. Bud didn't mind Sissy sleeping and living with Wes, but I guess Bud is the only one allowed to punch Sissy. Talk about white trailer trash.

This COULD have been a Lifetime movie of the week, but nothing really bad happens to the men that beat up Sissy in the movie.

And anyone else find it WEIRD and ODD that Bud's family was okay with him bringing Pam around to dinners and Gilley's and such? I mean, he just married Sissy last week and now he's with some other bar floozy. Pam must've been desperate to be with Bud. I mean, he was only with her to make Sissy jealous. What a waste.

I agree and disagree, I do think it's wrong a man to hit a woman unless his life was in real danger or she was severely and brutally beating him to a pulp(think Mr. and Mrs. Smith)it's wrong to beat anyone especially in a relationship. However, although I disagreed with Bud's actions he didn't beat, just gave her mild slaps only twice in the film, not that is an excuse he was a jerk to do it at all. As for Pam, he was only using her to make Cissy jeolous, Cissy was kind of with Wes for the same thing. Both of them were being immature however, I feel they grew up in the end. Bud was man enough to apologize for how he treated her including the slaps. As for Wes, his abuse was far worse than Bud's, he hit her pretty hard enough to bruise her, plus I don't believe Bud would hit her again unlike Wes he would've continued to smack her around. Wes was the real white trash in the film, Bud and Cissy where just two very flawed people who rushed into a marriage neither was ready for.

YOu need to turn on the t.v. and watch the news, more people than just trailer trash hit girls and hop on the next girl that comes along. Especially these days, ever watched reality shows much. They are full of it, and most of them have never seen the inside of a trailer.

At least Bud was sorry for his bad actions towards Sissy, And I liked it when Bud puts Wes in his place for beating on Sissy. I believe in the end, when he gets back together with Sissy, Bud will become a better man.

Exactly when did Bud Beat his wife?

Granted he slapped her twice, one time each on two different occasions but I wouldn't call that a beating.

No one said these were perfect people, it just represents the lifestyle of that type. It was probably common practice for the kids to get beatings when out of order, and for Bud, to correct his wife when she's out or order in his eyes. Probably saw his father and other men do the same.

Well if you remember in the diner scene when the girls walk by sissy gets jealous and said 'why don't you just go on they're waitin' bud started teasing sissy and tickling her she pinches him hard then he slapped her,so they were both in the wrong there,the second time was his not thinking and reacting to her 'you're jealous' remark,still wrong either way

Way to completely miss and ignore the entire last quarter of the film. This is a really silly post and it's silly because the OP clearly didn't understand anything that happened. Almost every single thing stated by the OP is totally off base. Must be a teenager or someone who doesn't understand people very well or possibly someone who hasn't had much experience in life yet. Or maybe the OP is simply oblivious. Not sure.
