Why would an Aztec God be American anyway ? Is it because they pronounce 'Puma' as 'Pooma' ?

What I think is really weird is when the shaman says he's an Aztec from the Peruvian plateau. The Inca's lived in Peru, and the Aztecs in Mexico.
