I was an extra

Parts were filmed in Cain Park in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. We had to dress in Fifties clothes and fan ourselves (since we were in the audience) but it was late August and it was freezing. We had blankets between takes. I remember the catered food was very good and we got something like $25 a day. It was fun.

I was an extra in that movie also. I was laid off at the time, and we shot at Cain Park at night all the time. I lived in Elyria at the time and it was a nice little drive to get there. Only one day shoot, on a Saturday with old cars, camera cranes, dollies, extras the whole 9 yards! It was awesome! Yes, the food was good, the expereince was good, and I got to meet and talk to Ed Henriques the make up man about movie make-up. He did some Planet of the Apes stuff at the time and was gonna show me the make-up room later in the night, but they moved in fopr close-ups and he had to leave. I still have pictures from it and also, my 15 minutes of fame. At the end of the movie, when everyone is clapping, there is a shot from behind the crowd. I am seen laughing and clapping and turning my head sideways...and it STAYED IN THE MOVIE! Of course I was only 23 years old at the time. What a great trip down memory lane!

It was so much fun doing that movie. I would have loved to be an extra in The Avengers and/or Capt. America 2 being shot in Cleveland now. But my day job keeps me from it these days. To this day I still check occassionally on Ed Henriques (make up) and Michael Pressman (Director) in IMDB to see what stuff they are working on. I'm also an amatuer filmmaker so that's why such the interest.
