Where exactly was the train headed for? Did they ever say??
shareIt was just referred to as an "excursion" trip, and that fact that it was just and excursion meant they couldn't have a radio on the train (conveniently for the plot). Perhaps it was just an out and back thing, a way for people to ride and party on a nice train who weren't actually traveling anyplace. Just guessing, though.
