shareYeah, that dumb. It might be understandable since he didn't know an actual super villain (which Superman 1 was lacking) was gonna come. But even then that just proves nothing really happens until the final third.

Not only does he give up his powers fora woman who only loved him for his powers (Lois admits this in the bar when he gets a beating "i want the man i fell in love with" she never wanted Clark she wanted Superman)
But, i lost count how many times he had to save Lois, he must realise with no powers he wouldn't be able to save her anymore. (it happens about 4 or 5 times lol)
