1980 or 81?

Even though it was released in December of 1980 in these nations...Australia 4, December 1980; France 9, December 1980; Norway 9, December 1980; Spain 11, December 1980; Argentina 25, December 1980; and Brazil 25, December 1980...I still think of it and regard it as a 1981 film since that's when I saw it first-time at the theatre.

it was either the same year as Empire or same year as Raiders... which goes best with Superman II?

its like Mad Max 2 - is it 81 (in Australia as 'Mad Max 2') or 82 (in US/UK as 'The Road Warrior') - if its 81 it came out same year as Raiders. if its 82 it belongs to the incredible genre year of ET, Trek II, Blade Runner, Thing, Conan etc

on imdb main pages its 80 (SII) and 81 (Max) but MChat/BOMojo has them down as 81 and 82
