just rewatched this, didn't age well

this movie isn't that great, very boring once you get to the rodeo, dumb ending

reply

I agree. I loved it when it 1st came out. (I was about 7 yrs old.) But it doesn't hold up well. Even Pryor didn't like it much at all.

reply

i disagree. anyway...Pryor didn't like any of his films, he said in his book that they were all crap.

we all go a little mad sometimes....

reply

Yeah, I agree. I loved it when I was 15, because of the Pryor/Wilder teaming, and who doesn't like seeing those t!ts in the strip bar. But most of the movie consists of Pryor acting scared and Wilder acting crazy the whole time. That's funny for a little while, but it gets real tired real quick.

I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

reply

Nah. It's still funnier than any comedy Hollywood makes these days.

reply

Really?
I love this movie.
nothing seems dated to me that no other early 80s has.
But just my opinion

reply

It's still funny to me.

reply

utter gobshite

It's got a couple of hilarious scenes, like with Grossburger and Pryor striking that match. Oh yeah, they tried to torture Wilder but he loved it!
This movie isn't great all the way through but if you went to the drive in and saw this like I did when I was 15 you couldn't help but laugh enough to love it forever!
