Scene - A Day Together

This was my fav scene in the film. It's their first real time spent alone together - after they hop the carriage and escape Robinson. I love the way it is shot - a very soft focus that gives it a dream-like look. It's as if that's how being back in time would look.

Also, John Barry's music there is gorgeous. It's sort of happy-go-lucky and melancholy at the same time. That's where I got the name for the scene - it's listed as this on the soundtrack.

Yes, this scene makes it believable that they fall in love so quickly.

I always wondered about the music. "A Day Together" on the original soundtrack released from the movie is so much longer and to me is better and more emotional than the version used in the movie. I wonder if the scene was originally supposed to be longer.
