Watch paradox solved maybe?

I was thinking about the watch and came out with this theory on how the watch was manufactured, suppose sometime in Elise`s life the watch got destroyed by a fire or something and Elise had a new one made exactly like the original and gave the replica to richard and he took it back with him and left it with her and it got destroyed and she had a new one built so the paradox is solved. What you all think?

Interesting! I never thought of that. When you listen to the commentary, he just says it's a paradox without giving any explanation. But yours does make sense. More sense than the watch traveling back and forth through time endlessly.

"How was the war, sir?"
"As any war, ma'am, a waste of good men." (Poldark)

And it would still be the same watch, nothing changed, but at least we would know how it came into existence.Plus I think even Elise would have figured that she needed a watch to give to Richard someday.

Ah, another good point. LOL I wonder if the writers ever thought of it.

But then where did the information, description or blueprint, for the watch came from?

You have transformed the paradox of the physical object into a paradox about the information about the object.

I wish I could like your post.
