vivs last gig

i was the house manager at the venue where he did his last ever gig. I remember talking to him. Nice guy. I still have a tape of that gig, the tech made me a copy.

Wow! Ever thought of making an MP3 and sharing it?

I always wondered what it would have been like to meet Viv. Though I did meet a fellow who encountered him at a party. However, Viv was previously engaged in jolly banter and sadly inaccessible.

I'll try and dig out the four tapes its recorded on. Quality is poor but I'll see what I can do. It was a very fine evening, I totally forgot to do my job properly and just spent the evening watching the "gig".

That'd sure be nice. Heck, I forgot all about Rawlinson's End (after getting the album), simply figuring I'd never have any hope of seeing it over here in the US. Now I know it's on DVD. :) But some more bits of Viv would be super. I turned on two friends to Bonzo back in high school so we share news of them now & then but unfortunately 99% of the population over here couldn't care less about stuff like this. :(

Where was the gig, Bulldog? (Noodle, now you've changed your name...) I remember seeing him at the Bloomsbury Theatre a couple of times, late on, and a very brief spot at the Amersham Arms (with an occasionally exasperated Neil Innes) as part of a benefit concert for the family of a music industry guy who'd died. That must have been the late 1980's.

I used to want to change the world. Now I just want to leave the room with a little dignity.
