Movies like this.

i was just wondering if there are any other movies as violent as this one, per say, in the field of blood.

because ive seen a lot of other older samurai films, and yeah, they are good, but theres just something about the spraying blood that makes it seem more enjoyable.

i just find in all of the other movies, all the violence with no blood just seems really cheesy.

kill bill vol. 1 + 2
ichii the killer

reply

ive already seen both of those.

but i meant older samurai films, not newer movies.

reply

Riki-Oh, or The Story of Ricky (american title). You gotta see that! Check out some clips of it on Youtube. It is exponentially more violent. But in a funny sort of way.

reply

Ive seen that already too. and i loved it.

But i want samurai films, that time period.

ive seen those already too.

then whats your *beep* problem youve seen loads

past, present and future...no such thing! Only memories, action and consequence.

reply

haha, i want more.

reply

Your best bet is to check out the catalog at: [urlhttp://www.animeigo.com/prodcat.t[/url]

They are the ones who will most likely distribute future DVD releases from that specific period of Samurai Cinema. Check it periodically for updates.

We're your friends, we're not like the others man, really

reply

do you like anime. theres a *beep* load similar to LW&C series. It sounds like you've seen most of the good bloody classics. Good luck on your search i am on the same one myself.

reply

ok, i'll do that then.

reply

look up any Shaw Brother films, not necessarily samurai, but amazing nevertheless

reply

Lady Snowblood is EXTREMELY similar to Shogun Assassin and the rest of the Lone Wolf and Cub series.

reply

Try the Goyôkiba-Series (Hanzo the Razor) from the wild seventies. Its about a policeman in medieval Japan. Its a bit more sexual than Okami but bloody as well.

The Zatôichi-Series might also be your cup of green tea.

If your into classic Samurai try out Akira Kurosawas work especially Yojimbo and the Seven Samurai.

reply

Even though I love the Kurosawa classics, I wouldn't call them gratouilusly bloody in the same way as the Lone Wolf-series...

Allthough that last duell in Sanjuro (the sequel/prequel to Yojinbo) is surprisingly bloody. ;)

reply

Check out the Hanzo the Razor series.
