Rewatched it after almost 3 decades..

It scared me when I was younger, but not at all this time.

Perhaps because I knew what would happen,
or perhaps because I couldn't stop thinking of the Simpsons parody this time.

But it wasn't at all scary. I almost started masturbating to the bathtub scene, and zoned out when the woman would turn old.

I did enjoy the movie, but it's a plain movie with not much depth.
People want this to be more than what it is. Imagery, allegories and social commentary which doesn't exist.
I fully agree with King - it's a very beautiful movie in some ways but if "cerebral" is a word you would use to describe this movie then you deserve Jack's hammer to the face.
However it's still superior to the 1997 miniseries.
