She's sleep??!?!?!?!?! What?!?!?! How?!?!?!

I've seen The Shining many times. It's one of my favorites. Yes, I can nitpick when comparing it to the book but the movie is a wonderful visual masterpiece in mind. I love how now matter how many times I watch it I discover new things.

I'm at the part where Wendy has locked Jack in the closet, Danny is clearly disturbed and "asleep" while Tony is in control according to him. Phones are out, snow storm going on, Wendy wants to get down off the mountain & save her son. The next scene with her shows her sound asleep in bed, all covered up, on her side and looks dead to the world as they say. Danny comes muttering "REDRUM REDRUM".

How in the world is she asleep? Maybe exhaustion but with all this stress I doubt she took a sleeping pill or sedative. lol It just makes no sense to me. I myself have a sick child and worry & stress keeps me up nonstop to where I'm lucky if I get 4hrs of sleep at night. How can she be so relaxed and quiet her mind???

Yes, I know it's a movie but I'm just surprised I haven't wondered about this before.

This coincides with a theory that the film is about repressed abuse. Danny seems to have repressed and forgotten his father's abuse. It also said the hotel was built on a Native American burial site which was also forgotten to time (as was the oppression of Native Americans).
