Have you ever stayed in a room 237?
One year, when I was a child, we went to Wildwood and our hotel room number was 237. As if in response to the jokes that we made about the room due to this movie, the door, while slightly open, swung out the rest of the way on its own. We observed that the building was a bit old and figured that the incident was likely a matter of weak hinges and gravity, but it was more fun to call the room haunted. Adding to the amusement of a mockingly supernatural experience, we spent over an hour trying to find Hunt's Pier, incognizant that it had gone bankrupt years earlier. One of the gift shops had postcards with pictures of the park, and the sign for Hunt's Pier's skyline golf (miniature on a rooftop) was still in its original place on the boardwalk. The latter seemed eerie to me and mirrored the way that parts of the Overlook Hotel's past never disappeared.share
