Have you ever stayed in a room 237?

One year, when I was a child, we went to Wildwood and our hotel room number was 237. As if in response to the jokes that we made about the room due to this movie, the door, while slightly open, swung out the rest of the way on its own. We observed that the building was a bit old and figured that the incident was likely a matter of weak hinges and gravity, but it was more fun to call the room haunted. Adding to the amusement of a mockingly supernatural experience, we spent over an hour trying to find Hunt's Pier, incognizant that it had gone bankrupt years earlier. One of the gift shops had postcards with pictures of the park, and the sign for Hunt's Pier's skyline golf (miniature on a rooftop) was still in its original place on the boardwalk. The latter seemed eerie to me and mirrored the way that parts of the Overlook Hotel's past never disappeared.

There's just so many schizophrenic and uncanny patterns in THE SHINING - that certain architectural hotel details will unearth this film from one's subconscious.

It's very surreal to be traveling somewhere new, and then suddenly feeling like you are inside of the film, again. Somewhat trapped in it, like Jack is.

Kubrick's film - will always be the definitive version of The Shining.

Lol, it didn't quite match that level of intensity. I just got kicks out of the coincidences.

...And I wouldn't be surprised if that was by design. Who knows. But hearing how fastidious and possibly eccentric Kubrick supposedly was, i wouldn't doubt it.

Kimrubymoon, what exactly are you referring to?

DemonClawVanDan79, no I have not. I address Kimrubymoon in my post, and your first one just happens to be after that of the other person. I do not like to disrupt the order of messages because that makes threads confusing and annoying.

Not only have I stayed in a 237, but it was at a ski lodge in the middle of winter. I did not kill my family however.
