Would you do this job if it was offered to you

Be a off-season caretaker in a isolated Hotel - I would do it but I am not sure being locked-up day & night during all winter would be good for my sanity.

I would probably spend all my time in the Gold Room - Picking up 1920's chicks & drinking free bourbons on the rocks & watching Al Bowlly live in concert...

I'd probably do it. I wouldn't know about the spirits so I wouldn't have a reason not to. What's better than being paid money to live in a beautiful, extravagant, luxurious building?

If the phone lines went down (as they did in the movie) wouldn't that mean there would be a good chance cable lines would be knocked out too? No TV. No internet.
Cell service might be spotty or out also.

I don't think I could do it.

I'd have to bring some DVDs with me but 5 months worth would be a lot. I imagine I wouldn't have room to bring them all so I'd probably have to watch the same ones over and over. If they didn't even have a DVD player I'd be doomed.

I agree & also porn films just in case, there is no internet access unless some hot naked girl is waiting for me in the bath tub that doesn't turn into an old bag...

I don't think I could take it, even though I like reading. If there was Internet access, I think I could do without human contact.

I would. Being alone in an isolated place and having a huge facility at my complete disposal has always been one of my favourite fantasies; a bit like being the only person alive on Earth, and having the resources of a whole planet to pick from...

Heck no. Sounds like tedious work, too sheltered and isolated (I like to explore since I'm a Type A personality) and I'm not an avid snow person either.

When God made Tom Cruise, he was only joking.
