Can we PLEASE stop calling those girls twins?

It's stated that they were two years apart, they looked nothing alike, but because they were wearing the same outfit, we're supposed to believe that they were twins for over 40 years? How stupid is the world?

reply

Come on, don't look alike? Of course they do and I think it's of more interest that they are made to seem alike.

Twins because if the doubling/mirroring theme of the film, and because it's better than 'sisters that look alike'.

Trolls who are obvious and not funny are so pathetic, yeah they don't look alike suuuuuuuure OP.

reply

They look the same...

In what scene do they remember the names?

reply

Those roles in this movie were played by a set of twins, but in the novel they were about a couple of years apart in age.

There's actually another thought about those characters: The Grady girls came back to life and grew up to be Hillary Clinton and Debbie Wasserman Schultz! 

reply

It's stated that Grady's girls are two years apart, it's never stated they are Grady's girls.

reply

Yeah but we see visions of their bloody bodies after being hacked up by an axe. Pretty obvious that they're supposed Grady's daughters. Plus they're both listed in the cast as Grady daughter. Come on man!

reply

If my brother and I were dressed alike when he was 5 and I was 3 we'd probably look close to being twins. Obviously one of the girls is shorter and they don't look identical. But the interesting thing is it looks like the younger/shorter girl will look identical to the older one in a couple of years. Twins born a few years apart is weird. They are actually twins in real life so why did Kubrick subtlety make them look different to reinforce the concept of time?

"How stupid is the world?"

i think the OP is ample answer to that question! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

reply

Either they weren't twins or Mr. Ullman had been misinformed about their ages. Could be one way or it could be the other.
