About Mrs Cromwell SPOILERS

At the end of the film, does Mrs Cromwell kill herself or does Roger Moore deflect her blow into herself?

The latter, I think. That whole subplot let the film down. It would have fit in much better had it been resolved in a clever way.

Here I am writing you almost one year to the day later.
I had this some question. I felt like the crucial shot of film was dropped from what I saw on TV so that it would not be so shocking. It's always delicate to see anyone kill a woman. So we really don't know and we have to guess. We know that Moore knew she was out to get him and he was on his guard. We know that Moore is running around killing everyone in sight. We know that if someone comes at Moore, he kills them. The girl professed to "mixed feelings" all the time but we know that's hogwash. We never saw any self-doubt or self-incrimination from her. If she were going to stab herself, why not instead simply surrender?

I think we can assume that Moore grabbed her wrist and stabbed her. The lack of struggle and vague nature of the strike I think were the filmmakers keeping us in suspense as to who actually got stabbed until they finally revealed the girl to fall. It was a little weak.

Just seen it now on film 4 not sure what version you guys have seen, but its obvious she was trying to stab him, as she pulls her hand back, but he obviously by this time knew she was a spy, and simply pushes her hand up as she strikes, the look of horror on her face and pity on his was well done imo.

a shame she had to die , she was nice sort

"[A] nice sort"...for a spy that passed information that resulted in many Allied deaths. (Great hair, though.)

As an actress - yes, very attractive.

As a character, a totally despicable enemy of the British.

Yes.

Stewart definitely contributed to her death as payback for her murdering his friend Jack. He also warns the other guy who comes into the room that he and his family will get the same if he doesn't cooperate.🐭

A nice-looking sort, at any rate. Mrs. Cromwell made a very fetching femme fatale.

No blah, blah, blah!
