Question about the MGM version

I have two questions about the MGM DVD version of Scanners. My first is how bad or off is the lip syncing? Is it really distracting when you are watching the movie or is it something that can be ignored. My second question is the MGM version an uncut version of the film or not?

also anyone know if a special edition will becoming out?

Don't expect a special edition release until the remake comes out.
