WHY Did They Have To Rehash The Scenes From The TV Show?

What spoilt this movie for me was that they rehashed old jokes and vignettes from the TV series. This is the first time I have ever seen this in a spin-off movie version of a sitcom, so why did they think it necessary to do this here?

This film could have been great if they had introduced an original plot, with no repetitions of the TV series gags. Why they pressed for time or something?

I don't know what ones you have watched, but I have seen repeated jokes in most of the TV spin off films I have seen. The reason why they do it is because one of the principle reasons for making them was to help to sell the series abroad.

I must admit I struggle to understand what it is - whether it's supposed to be a sequel or reboot as some dialogue suggests it occurs after the TV series but it then repeats many stories from the episodes.
