I agree. I mean i know its a fictional film, but its bound to get complaints about fact & fiction, so why didnt they use their brains and use a fictional ship. Why not "Raise the Poseidon"? It would of got less complaints, and I would have probably enjoyed that. And im an enormous Titanic fan, and it was so painful too watchactors talking about raising the Titanic. It is so impossible,. They had everything intact, I think even the string was still intact to the funnels!!

This WAS made in 1979/80 after all. Nobody knew ANYTHING about the condition of the ship back then. It was pure wish-fulfillment, and taken on that level and ignoring all the proof that came out AFTER IT WAS MADE, I think Raise The Titanic is decent entertainment. It's only implausible now because we KNOW it's implausible now. Back then, dreamers could still dream, I suppose. Hey, if James Cameron can have ghosts standing around the grand staircase APPLAUDING two more ghosts at the end of his film, I'm willing to forgive the makers of Raise The Titanic their artistic licence.

I agree. Terrible stuff. The scene with the submarine was cringeworthy.

Check this out from the trivia section, bad luck:

A model of the Titanic was built at a cost of $350,000. When it was finished, it was discovered that it was too big for the tank in which it was to be filmed. An additional, bigger tank had to be built, at a cost of $6 million.

Becasue you morons its a work of fiction. So who cares if its 'innacurate', even the mighty highly acclaimed Ttanic is innacurate, whats your problem.

Dont like a film, why waste your time coming here and moaning about it. You lot must live very very sad lives.

For the record, love this film, when she comes up it always gives me a big smile, as unfortunatly, its something that will never happen.

Who cares what I think...

What people can only make a comment on a movie they like in imdb or something???, everyone is entitled to their opinion's, good or bad, i like raise the titanic, and you do all make good point's there, i agree it does have major flaws, fiction or not you have to have a certain level of believability, but as it was made before the titanic wreck was discovered, i guess it can be forgiven.
