Is a scene missing from the DVD?

I'm not sure if I'm misremembering or confusing it with another film, but I seemed to recall a scene before they find the cornet where one of the subs picks up a metal trace only for it to turn out to be an old car. Can anyone help me out on this one?

A metal trace that turns out to be an old sunken car? Hmmm...do you remember watching this on TV? "Raise the Titanic" was HEAVILY cut in the editing room and some of the footage appeared on TV. I don't recall this part in the final theatrical film so my best guess is that its a deleted/alternate/extended scene that appears on TV.

I believe you are confusing this film with the film "Gray Lady Down" (see http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077629/) which I believe has that scene
