Joey


I heard Joey didn't like the way he was portrayed. Joe Pesci never even met him. He does look like a creep in the movie. If the real Joey wasn't like that, I don't blame him. Watching the movie, Joe Pesci acted like he does in every movie. The way he talks, the way he treats women, beats people up. I don't blame Joey LaMotta.

The character of Joey wasn't originally in the script, when he was written in the character was mostly written to serve the story. Historical accuracy took a backseat to developing a strong supporting role for the narrative.

That's not true, Joey and another fella were just combined in Scorsese and De Niro's version. Also he wasn't so bad. He shared some similarities with Jake, but he was a much more well adjusted version.
