Talk about a control freak to the max.

I bet one of their off screen or real life interactions went something like this.
Jake: What are you doing?
Vicki: What do you mean? I'm just sitting here.
J: Yeah, but that thing your doing with your mouth. What is that?
V: What? You mean, breathing?
J: Yeah, that. Did I say you could breath?
V: Well no, but Jake I gotta breathe.
J: Yeah, when I tell you to breathe. You got that? You can only breathe when I say you can.

Poor Vicki. It must have been more like a relationship with a prison guard and she must have felt like she was in prison.

Exactly, because no one acts like this. The character was stupid, and a total waste of time. It's trying to be sooooo realistic, yet i know of no one who ever acted like this ahole in my whole life. It's not realistic, it's just an excuse for hollyweird to normalize violence. Stupid, stupid, propped up dumb film

yep. 44 years of life, and i've never met anyone even close to this "raging bull". i've also never met anyone like the characters in Goodfellas. They are mostly made up personalities by hollywood to glorify violence. That is the purpose of these movies: To make people this it's ok to act like this.

It's all about selling you the personality. Did you really think his agent wouldn't be loving the fact that people think he's like that? It's actually perfect for a boxer to be thought of that way, and would sell more tickets.

my grandfather was 100% italian. he was hard headed sure, but not like joe pesci or this "raging bull" guy. i know you've never met anyone who acted just like this guy. maybe someone who gets drunk and beats on their wife here and there sure, but not like this guy. just like all of hollywood, it's exaggerated big time.
