All I'm saying, it takes two to tango. I've read that in most abused households, in the experience of the social workers who attend to them, the wife is just as violent and abusive. She just happens to be the weaker one and thus ends up being the punching bag (even Once Were Warriors admits to this, and thus Beth at the end and in the sequel did not hate/resent Jake, admitting she had a part too).

al its true in some households the abuse is mutual but in plenty of relationships it is one person abusing the other - which can be the wife abusing the husband or the husband abusing the wife - and people shouldn't blame the person being abused in those circumstances.
