Secret Passages

I was wonderfing if the secret passages and secret panels were the real ones in the house or were they created on a set? I think this movie is wonderful and is a classic haunted house spoof! Any comments and thought would be appreciated!

A little late here, but yes. This is from the movie's Trivia section:

"The secret passages featured in the film actually exist in the Biltmore mansion. The only portion of the passage that was constructed is the rotating wall, and the owner of the house liked it so much that he decided to keep it."

My wife and I went to the Biltmore (completely by accident) We were going to Virginia to Busch Gardens and took a wrong exit in Kentucky! Anyway... it was the day of 9/11 when we were there! And on the tour I asked them about the secret passage ways... and the tour guide, piped up and said "Yes! There are secret passage ways!" but they never showed them to us! I even asked later to a different worker... about where the graveyard was.... I did NOT ask IF they had one... only WHERE, and the guy was like, "Oh, yeah, the old family cemetery is between the house and the winery, off a different little road." I was thinking... COOL! There IS a cemetery here! I should have asked MORE about the connections to this movie... and they DID mention many movies being filmed there. It was nice experience. And my wife mentioned how they took out the horse stables since the last time SHE had been (as a kid) and turned them into shops... (where we heard about the planes plowing through the towers in NY). Never forget that moment.
