Does anybody knows if there's been edited in DVD? I mean in Czech Republic, cause it's obvious that it's never been released in this format in the rest of the world. I'll thanks if somebody answers me if i can have details information of the edition (english or fench subtitles) cause i don't understand any west european languages. This is one of my ten favourites of all time so i'll be every happy if i can get it.

This film is available from Bontonland with English subtitles.Be warned though, that the quite extensive voice-over throughout the film , is not subtitled. As this commentary is quite important in explaining the comedic and oddball nature of the characters and preparing the set pieces,the ommision of subtitles will, i think, very much blunt your enjoyment of the film. What a pity that the likes of Criterion can't see the magic in this film, or, for instance, "the Elementary School", which i would rate even higher. May i lastly reccommend the comedy drama "All My Good Countrymen". It is on dvd (region one)
