Why did they make Jiminey Cricket into a wiseguy?? and pinochio was a punk. Was this owned by Disney?? How did this get made? I have to know

This show was so stereotypical I laughed throughout the whole thing (big noses, Jiminey Cricket's Godfather-like antics, street thugs, the accents, etc). I definitely recommend this one.

Pinocchio isn't an original character of Disney. Like many Disney stories, they optioned rights to make a film. Rankin and Bass merely optioned rights.
