...that the same man who directed such Hollywood classics as The Maltese Falcon, Treasure Of The Sierre Madre and The African Queen went on to direct this awful, shlock Canadian-made thriller (very likely a tax shelter flick). What was he thinking when he signed on for it? No wonder it vanished into obscurity.
shareI know what you mean. I love John Huston, but this movie is awful and out of the movies I have seen of his for me this is by far his worst. It is plodding, shoddy, dull and soulless and just didn't work on any level.

Yes, frankly I think Steve Miner could've done a better job with this movie. Quite strange to see someone with so impressive a body of work toiling on a project that so clearly isn't right for them. Reminds me of John Schleshinger with "The Believers", and Stanley Donen directing "Saturn 3".
