in spite of the problems like why is it pits instead of chaos, where is 99?, why recast the chief, doesn't have the same feel or pace as the series, middle lags, kinda stupid... etc
but it's sort of goofy fun
too bad mel brooks and buck henry weren't able to write it
Mel brooks I don't think ever did write any of get smart. He just came up with some ideas and concepts and buck Henry and Leonard stern ran with it. I remember Mel saying in an interview the shoe phone was his idea, but I've never heard him speak more about get smart other than coming up with characters and a few gags.
