I think i saw this film when i was young, and ive gone through every other Mitchum film looking for it.
Does it turn out nr the end that Mitchum is or has done the murders, and has killed the womans dog ? and he gets away with it ?

shareI thought it was implied though by Jaclyn's character when she made the call to the authorities (right when she was dying) that he would be caught. Anyhow, entertaining flick.

share*SPOILERS* Naw - the way i see it, the police said they had Smith's whereabouts information, that they were on their way and that she shouldn't talk anymore and save her strength, because she was in such terrible physical shape. Mitchum's character thought everything out already... even if the police did pursue him eventually, he had more than enough money to disappear completely. In short: Mitchum wins everything and Smith loses everything [ Including her physical beauty ]. What a bummer! I love this ending. =D

I tried to email Jacylyn Smith to ask her opinion about the end to settle the argument but alas none of the emails listed in search are valid. Maybe someone else will have better luck in asking her about the end whether Mitchum got away or not.
