How much did Sidney J. Furie direct?
Is any of his footage in the final cut?
shareSorry I can't offer any information, but as both a fan of this film and an admirer of Furie's work I thank you for bringing this to my attention.
In most cases, when a director quits or is fired after production began, their footage is utilized in the final cut. Dustin Hoffman started directing the brilliant STRAIGHT TIME but turned it over to a different director, yet his footage was used in the final cut. Even some of Scorsese's footage for THE HONEYMOON KILLERS was used after he was fired for being too "arty".
Hopefully this underrated thriller will get a DVD or (preferably) Blu-Ray release with commentary or an interview with someone involved in the production who can shed some light on Furie's involvement.
