My Bodygaurd and The Karate Kid: A similar incident

Clifford and Daniel both did things to aggravate the bullies. Clifford goes into the diner and throws condiments and milkshakes all over Moody, Hightower, and the other one. Daniel turns the hose on Johnny while Johnny is in the toilet stall rolling a joint.

I think anybody who has been bullied understands the impulse to take petty revenge when the opportunity arises, even if it gets the bullies even madder at you. I did. Not only did my petty revenge make the bullying worse, but it gave the teachers and the vice-principal an easy way out: They said I brought the bullying on myself. But dammit, when you're 14, and you've been humiliated and injured, you wanna take revenge!

Another similarity is that both of them had a "bodyguard" (and like Linderman Mayagi did not fight all of Daniel's battles for him but he taught Daniel how to stick up for himself).

Also, after squirting the bullies with ketchup and mustard he ran to his bodyguard for protection. Daniel was doing that too even though he did not realize at the time, he got beaten up first but then Mayagi came to his rescue.

By the way Johnny Laurence was NOT rolling a joint, he was just putting the finishing touches on his costume.
