THe couple who got a ride from mother. were they gonna mug that old lady???and take her car??

No, they weren't. All of their awkward hesitation and menacingness was a joke - it was all about them turning the radio on. Seriously, it's supposed to be a joke.

Lots of people miss the jokes here. If you think the movie's supposed to be taken dead straight, you're blind.

I don't know, I think they really was trying to kill her, but then they just wanted to turn on the radio.

For some reason, I think of this movie as people paying for their past shenanigans. Like when the girls played that joke on the man at the baseball stadium,and how they were acting silly around the camp site.

All that led up to them getting kidnapped.

Yes they were going to kill her. Hence, the rope, tying the knot and Lady Gaga asking Mon if her husband was home. Then the car breaks down and they do the radio joke.

Then again, this movie wasn't too much about the mother. I first saw clips of this movie on youtube, then I saw the whole movie at a friends house. It was more about her two sons chasing and beating those women. I know for them to do that was to make their mother proud, but they should of had more with the mom. Now I know I'm going off topic now.

they were preying on mother, but had the tables turned on them. where they didn't have the "guts" or were too polite to actually kill, mother had no problems, thus establishing that she & her boys were the stronger predators.
