Yeah I said it, its my opinion, this movie Maniac is much better than John Carpenter's "Halloween".

I did sixty in five minutes once...
Halloween is arguably the supreme popcorn slasher. It made a lot of money at the box office and it's universally beloved for a reason. The sort of film that most people can sit down and enjoy. Films like Halloween and Scream are blockbuster slashers. Broad appeal horror.
Maniac is more of a hard horror which is very appealing to some but off-putting to others. It's gory, sleazy and even quite bizarre. Prime for cult fandom.
What you said. Maniac is different enough that comparisons like this are subjective.
