It isn't too late for one, is it?

I'm sure it isn't. Robert Sacchi IS still alive.
Just because it's been 27 years.., all the more time "The Man With Bogart's Face" could have had building cases he's solved.
Maybe there's one he hasn't been able to solve is when the story would take place. -Or maybe when he's hired to play a detective in a movie.., or.. heck! It's wide open with possibilities! :)

And now it's been 30 years! I wish Robert Sacchi would make more movies. He has a Web site, but it sounds like he mostly lends himself out to bar mitzvahs and whatnot.

I remember enjoying this film on HBO in the early '80s, and I just found a cheap VHS at a record store. Hope it holds up.

The VHS tape I have is still holding up. It's certainly one I'd like to be able to get on DVD!

I just watched it. Terrific film, and what a cast! Great to see Philip Baker Hall in the first scene, and I've loved Michelle Phillips since the Mamas and the Papas.

This is a real movie for movie lovers. Too bad it's been relatively forgotten, if it was even remembered in the first place. It's also too bad that Robert Sacchi didn't have more of a career after this, but I guess the amazing Bogart resemblance closes more doors than it opens.

This is a loving homage to old Hollywood. I'm sure I'd have liked it even more had I got all the references.

Aside from cameo parts as a Bogey look alike, (the carnival movie that had Squiggy in it; ANOTHER CHANCE; the DJ in "Blast from the Past"; an ep. of Sledge Hammer), yeah, it'll close a few doors.

Which is why, I think, they should have made more movies (with a few more 'inside references' and such) for this character.
