Watching this as a young, kid..

This movie scared the heck out of me as a kid. Welles' narration, the tick-tock of the clock (??), talk about nuclear anhilation...yikes, I think I had more nightmares about this movie than any other!!

I saw this on cable in 82 when I was 12. It scared me pretty good and had me in a depression for a while. my parents noticed i wasnt myself but I never told them it was because of this movie. I eventually got over it. I think I realized there was nothing I could do about it and just hoped for the best

You are not alone! I am currently at a bar in Brooklyn, NY, talking to my boyfriend about this film. He never saw it as a kid, but it gave me crazy nightmares.. especially the WW3 parts...Ahh the man in the blue turban from the middle east!
