Movie Soundtrack

I really wish they made a soundtrack to go along with this movie - so many excellent songs! Does anyone know all the tunes they used, so I can make up my own? My list so far includes Ian Matthews' "Shake It", Blonde's "One Way or Another", Rickie Lee Jones' "On Saturday Afternoon In 1963", John Lennon's "Oh My Love", the Bellamy Brothers' "Let Your Love Flow", Mary McGregor's "Good Friend", and Supertramp's "School". Am I missing anything?

Mary McGregor's GOOD FRIEND was in Meatballs and not in Little Darlings at all. Other than that, I think you had the list pretty much nailed!

I am trying to find out the title and artist for the song in "Little Darlings" that begins right after Kristy kicks the boy in the crotch in the beginning of the movie. Any idea of the title and/or artist?

Shake It
by Ian Matthews, of Matthews Southern Comfort

Here she comes ridin'
Rollin' it down the line
Slipin' and slidin'
Takin' her sweet old time

And laughin' all the way to the parking lot
Knowin' in the back of her mind
She's gonna show the boy what she's really got
And stop him in the nick of time

Chorus:

Shake it baby, shake it all you can tonight
Go on and, and break 'em baby
Break 'em all you can tonight
'Cause it won't last forever
But do it for worse or for better
And give the boy somethin' to dream on later

Here she comes slidin'
Shakin' it down the hall
She's got a picture in her locker
An autographed basketball

She's got a purse that was made in Mexico (Mexico)
A mind that was made for love
She's got a new way of dancin' slow
She knows what you're thinkin' of

(Chorus)

It won't last forever
But do it for worse or for better
And give the boy somethin' to dream on later, and

(Repeat chorus and fade)

I was looking for the same thing and just found it -- that song was buried in my subconscious somewhere as I was about 14 in 1980 I must have heard it before but forgot all about it until i heard it in this movie on AMC the other day. That is really a great old song, and thats my favorite thing when I hear some old forgotten song that I used to love, makes me feel wistful inside. Where have the 80's gone? ;)

During what scene was "School" played?

It was on when the girls first set up the "whoever loses here virginity first wins" contest, and plays on into when the girls are jumping on a trampoline.

I saw this movie back in 1980 and remember the song "Let you Love Flow" by the Bellamy Brothers. But now in the VHS version, there's another song. Man, they need to put the original song back.

I know! I just bought an Asian DVD of this movie--which I had originally taped off of ON TV back in the 80s and several of the songs are different. Since i watched the movie like 800 times, being a preteen and all, i knew right away they'd changed some things on us. It sucks. I love the original songs. All i can think is that they couldn't get the rights--or too expensive--to use the original songs on the VHS (which turned into the pirate DVD). They tried to recreate them, but hardly make the grade. Still, this is a fantastic movie. It's held up for me and i'm in my thirties now!

Does anyone have a copy of Ian Matthews' "Shake It" I've tried to find it on AOL Music Net and also ITunes with no luck. Anyone know of any other music download sites that may have it?

If you're more "vintage" minded like I am, and own vinyl, you might try ebay, I know I have a few copies of the 45 and the album of his it was on is titled "Stealin' Home", so there's gotta be some out there still. I remember the 45 has a big mushroom on the label.
