The Scroll Under The Floorboards

My Latin is very poor, so I do not understand much of what is written on that scroll which Mark finds under the floorboards.

Does anyone here have enough Latin to translate it all? It may hold the key to a mystery or two.

He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy!

Thankyou. And that brings me to the way the films Suspiria and Inferno both end in fire.

So now we have the mystery of why the post with the apparent translation has gone missing... hmmm...

If it helps, the text is, as far as I can distinguish:

Mater Tenebrarum, Mater Lachrimarum, Mater Suspiriorum, ignis vestri imagine inferorum recipiunt animi mei delitarum.

If anyone is particularly good with Latin, then go for it!

I believe these words are also repeated as part of the iconic song.

I spoke to a friend of mine who used to work with Latin and he says, although he warns his Latin is a bit rusty, it means:

'Mater Tenebrarum, Mater Lachrimarum, Mater Suspiriorum, take from my mind this vision of hell for your delirium.'
