Jeff Barry is one of the legendary Brill Building songwriters. With wife Ellie Greenwich, he wrote such hits as "Da Do Ron Ron", "Do Wah Diddy Diddy", "Be My Baby", "And Then He Kissed Me", "Chapel of Love", "Leader of the Pack", and "River Deep, Mountain High". After the marriage and partnership broke up, Barry went on to become a producer at A&M records. The soundtrack for The Idolmaker was released by A&M, perhaps thanks to Barry's involvement.
