I liked the movie, but did McQueen died during production or something??

The Hunter feels very unfinished...The movie raises so many issues and plot points, only to leave them unanswered. Not to mention there are several people whose ultimate fates are left swinging in the wind.

Bernardo...dead or alive? What happened with his parents, did they lose their business? Is the black lady Bernardo shot on the train dead? Did Papa get paid for Bernardo's...eh, capture or death or whatever?

At the school...is the security guard dead? Is Mason dead? Did anyone bother to call the police out to the scene to arrest Mason....or an Ambulance to take the Security guard to the hospital..or the morgue?

So, are Dotty and Papa together at the end or what? What the heck did she have a boy or girl? I mean the doctor does say "He's just fine." So, I guess we can assume its a boy. But *He* is a universal pronoun, I would have rather heard him say..."Your son is just fine." Just for confirmation.

Is Papa going to quit the bounty hunter business and get a less dangerous job now? Will Dotty still have a job now that the school is blown up? Are they going to get married?

Some many questions...so few answers. I know this was Steve McQueen's last film, but I assumed it was a completed...However, it feels more like he may have died during production and they cobbled together what they could, after the fact. Does anyone know?

McQueen did finish the movie. He was diagnosed with cancer about a month after filming was completed. The real Papa was killed by a car bomb in 1994.

Thanks for the info. I guess they left it hanging on purpose. Odd.
