Old School Kung Fu fans only...

Was having a discussion with some friends about this movie yesterday. Some of them thought Lo Lieh (one of my favorite villians of all time) played Pai Mei like he did in Executioners of Shaolin. However, at the beginning of Fists... Gordon Liu and his kung fu brother, who practiced the crane fist boxing, they killed Pai Mei and Lo Lieh's character is only referred to as the White Lotus Chief his classmate. Old school kung fu movie fans, help me out!

I Agree. To me "Fist Of The White Lotus" is better than "Executioners of Shaolin". Even though it's the same cast. Lo Lieh was Outstanding as the White Lotus Chief. And of course Gordon Liu is the perfect Hero. This is a Must see for Old School Kung Fu fans.

pogo_sport you are correct!
I just finished watching the remastered DVD from Celestial and Lo Lieh is not Pai Mei in this film. Pai Mei gets killed right at the beginning just like you said. I think it was Wilson Tong who was playing Pai Mei.
I've read some people describe this film as a remake of Executioners of Shaolin but it is not. It is more like a sequel but with some of the details changed from the earlier events e.g. In Executioners from Shaolin, Hung Man Ting on his own kills Pai Mei, in Clan of the White Lotus his kung fu brother fights with him.

Pai Mei makes his triumphant return in Kill Bill, but this time played by Gordon Liu. This was a great film with crane style boxing. I think the previous film, Executioners of Shaolin, i missed. Often, the video store will have the sequel, but not the film preceeding it. The 5 point palm exploding fist wasnt revealed - the pins were used by Liu...

In the version I got off of Ebay they call him priest Pak Mei and that yes its pai mei in the intro.

What an exellent day for an exorcism!

Ok well I know this is an old post but whatever...
It is the old trick of THE TWIN BROTHER. I think because of the reception of Executioners they decided to make a sequel... I guess technically it isnt Pei Mei
And I think in my version of Clan of the White Lotus he calls himself Pei Mei's brother... Cant remember

No matter how good our kung-fu is, it will never defeat guns.
