The first cable movie I saw

I remember when our when we first got cable installed on our block in the early 80's, and it was on late night on Showtime or Cinemax. I must say for an 11 year old this was quite an awakining experience for me. For the next couple of years I could not waite for late night cable. The scene in the tent when the guy pulls out his doll in front of his naked girlfriend is classic. Oh yeah I still like late night cable!

Well, you can thank Roger Corman for that because he insisted on that scene over the objections of the director who was subsequently fired for it. Gotta give it to Corman, he's always thinking about the audience and particularity the greenbacks in their wallet.

I was eleven years old too when I saw this movie in 1982. The scene at the very end of the movie was pretty unsettling (it still is for a 36 year old). I'm not sure if a similar scene in the movie "Species II" could be considered an homage, or a rip-off.
