I saw the trailers for "mad money" and immediately thought of the 80's movie "How to beat the high cost of living". A different twist--but the same premise-- 3 women faced with economic hardships and a way to boost their own bank accounts with an outrageous scheme......

I immediately thought the same thing as well. I assumed this was a remake, or at the very least, they "borrowed" the premise of "How to Beat the High Cost of Living."

That's what I thought too! I came on here to find the name of the original. High Cost was a great movie!

You are right to think that but actually MAD MONEY is a remake of a well-received Brit TV movie HOT MONEY from a few years back.

i forgot that the movie is from 1980, thought it was about 1985.

I thought the same thing.

I swear, I keep on repeating it so in my mind, I must be right. There has to be about 12 scripts in Hollywood that they keep recycling.
