Who played Sir Giles?

Who was that guy?? He's not listed in the credits - neither here on IMDb nor at the end of the movie, but I thought he had a funny little scene, basically telling the American CIA guys that yes, British Intelligence would help them... reluctantly. He really enjoyed seeing Myerson squirm. Must've had something to do with cross-Atlantic rivalries or some such.

Okay, I found it... it was Allan Cuthbertson. He's listed as playing "Chartermain," but there was no mention of such a name during his part - or anywhere else in the movie, for that matter. In the scene in which he appeared, he was only referred to as Sir Giles. But I just recognized him in "Tunes of Glory" (1960), and also recall him from "Room at the Top" (1959), and found his name. So, mystery solved. But the IMDb page needs to be updated/corrected. As does the Wikipedia entry for "Hopscotch."

I noticed him immediately as an actor who also appeared in an episode of Fawlty Towers, the one where Basil has a fancy dinner party.

I think one of the police officers that stopped Kendrick when he had a flat tire, the one in the beard, also appeared in a Fawlty Towers episode as one of the carpenters who came to work on the hotel one day.

One of the funniest lines is when he asks Meyerson where the Americans are staying, and he mutters under his breath, "The Hilton," and Sir Giles says, "Ah yes, of course!"
