One of my favorites

This is certainly one of my favorites, if not my favorite movie. The acting is excellent, the plot is intriguing and the ending...although a bit incredible, is neat.

woooow criterion released this movie??????? wooooooooow

it was a good film,, another one i found in my closet the other night cause i was bored to death with what was on the cable channels and remembered i had prev viewed vhs taped that go back a couple years...almost completely forgot about it, although i vaguely remembered matthau in something like this....its a very nice movie, def underrated, dropped my jaw when i came here to post something about it and saw that criterion actually released a new version of it....it didn't exactly strike me as a classic for the ages, but pretty glad they did... maybe now more people (ie dvd snobs looking for anything criterion) will actually hear of it.

What a great movie...

Why this one isn't in the AMC rotation I surely don't know.

Walter is an absolute gem in this movie. Maybe my favorite role for him.

My father borrowed my DVD of Hopscotch back during Thanksgiving, and I still haven't gotten it back. I was going to watch it, last weekend, but then I remembered.... <Insert your choice of Myerson explicative here>

I've read great reviews on this movie. Walter Matthau's great in everything, and I may purchase this one soon.

looked like it was something similar vibe to a 1970's 1980's crime series, i didn't know it was billed partly a comedy as i was watching it so that made those scenes even funnier, many actors in this movie i enjoy watching, liked the "freaking" touch part given to ned beatty, here playing great both fun and seriously i thought.

Agreed. I love how this film manages to tell an entertaining spy story without resorting to the usual expected array of shoot outs and car chases. In fact, both the one token shoot out and the airplane and helicopter chase poke wickedly droll fun at these formula conventions.
