Long drop and long production?

I was working for a legal firm in Toronto the day the stuntman jumped off the tower. We all had our noses pressed up to the windows to watch.

The funny thing is, I worked there from 1979-1981. I was surprised to find out a couple of minutes ago that the movie's year of release is 1984.

Thought it was released 1982. Would have loved to see that stunt performed. The only event I ever saw from my office window was 9/11.
